Phillip joined the Firm in 2021 as an Associate Advocate in the Conveyancing Department. His current role is Head of the Firm’s Conveyancing Department. He oversees various property transactions including the preparation of agreements and security documents, advising on the appropriate structure for land transactions and guiding Clients on applicable legislative provisions for land matters. Philip’s areas of expertise further include:
Real Estate and Conveyancing
- Advising clients in connection with the acquisition or sale of land
- Advising clients in connection with the sale or lease of commercial and residential properties;
- Conducting due diligence services for property-related issues i.e. obtaining search;
- Preparing or reviewing a variety of property-related documents such as sale agreements, leases, tenancy agreements, and licenses;
- Preparing and registering a variety of property-related documents, such as leases, licenses, easements, and sectional property transactions;
- Processing new titles, replacing lost titles and rectification of titles, extension of user, and obtaining a change of user; and
- Preparing and registering power of attorney, Preparing and registering Deed Poll to effect a change of name.
Banking and Securitization
- Representing lenders and borrowers by assisting in preparing Charges, Loan agreements, Discharge of Charge, Debentures and Deed of Assignment (rent/receivables).
Commercial
- Advising and assisting clients to set up and register various forms of businesses and charity organizations such as Business names, Companies, Trusts, Foundation, Non-Governmental Organizations and Partnerships;
- Drafting and reviewing various commercial agreements such as the acquisition or purchase of assets.
